If anyone needs a nice visual of what the flight path of the dice should look like, water the lawn.

Just spray the water from the hose (some kind of nozzle works best for consistent results) in a steady steam. Now adjust the angle of the stream until the water goes the farthest. The water is now traveling at the most efficient trajectory. The dice should travel on a similar path.
