question about table minimums

The casinos simply want you to lose quicker with the $10 and $25 tables. We also think they may be interested in getting higher dollar players. Probably a little of both.

I don't mind these tables, but I like the smaller dollar tables when I first start because I just don't have the confidence to just walk in and expect to be doing good. I like to test the waters first. I play at home before I go, but there's still time to drive down there, and get in my spot. Usually if I play at home and its not going well, I just don't go out. like last Friday night.
no idea why, but to many 7's. slept then practiced the next day with long rolls that were consistent so I went out.

Now that's what I called the "advantage player attitude."

I think the min. should be on the pase line and DP since they are contract bets for the casino .But that is just my .01 worth .You should have the choice to bet any amount on other bets that you like since they pay you less then they should any way .
I just wonder how the law reads when it comes to this and if it was written by some one who has played the game ?
Some times I wonder if some dealers have even played the game .Or know how to play it . :D :D

The way we seem to understand the minimum bets is that there are really two different minimums.

One for the pass line, come bets, don't bets (pass and come) and place bets. This is usually the "table minimum" as posted at the table. This is usually the $5, $10, $15 or $25 minimum bets.

Secondly, for the prop bets in the middle of the table, which usually have a $1 minimum bet.

At least this is what we usually see.

IMHO its economics that determines table minimums, and the day of the week. There are far more people willing to play a 5 dollar table than one with 10 on it. That is proved day after day. Ever see a full 10 dollar table and empty 5, I can't recall one instance. And which table will bring in more to the Casino's bottom line? Nope, nothing but economics.

The craps management decide when and how much to set the table minimums.
They are human and may or not be very bright. They are the deciders.
At a low minimum table you may, and some players do, use higher flat bets.
What you see is what you get. Be happi. YOU decide where to play.

I can find empty $5 dollar tables all the time. During the week when tables drop to $3, I can show you empty tables as well.

Yes, we have plenty of places here in Colorado that are 3 bucks during the week. My point is you will never see a full 10 dollar table and an empty 5 dollar table in the same casino sitting next to each other. The 5er will be getting most if not all of the action.

Lately I have seen a lot of players with a 10.00 pass line bet on a 5.00 min. table . If they only go with 2x odds it shows me that they don't know the game vary well .It seems that there are a lot of new players .
Some will take my advise but some just don't care .I think the casinos have to much lead way as far as rules go . They just make up some of them as they go or it just seems that way at times .I have never seen any posted in a casino .I think that the law should be for contract bets on the min part .
