Lois and I were on the way to shoot with JC1 and we got a call from Rubin 74. We have shot with him many times and he is a lot of fun to be with. He met us and JC1 at a place we both like to shoot and where JC1 was staying. JC1 took the dice first as he shoots from SR and the three of us shoot from SL. It was agreed that Lois and I would each take 2 turns and if nothing happened we would move out and Rubin 74 could have that position. JC starts slow with a 7 roll of 1 point made. Lois then cranks out a 22 with 6 9's. That seemed to be the number of the day as JC had hit 3 9's. Then I stunk it up 4 and out. Rubin decides to shoot from SL3. He does OK with a 12. Meanwhile JC, Lois and I can't get by the 5 count and when Rubin shoots from SL3 the second time he doesn't get but 3 and out. I moved out and Lois stayed at SL2 and Rubin moved into SL1. JC doesn't surrvive the 5 count again (he has had nice rolls in the past but just not today).

Rubin 74 then cranks out a great 47 roll hand with 9 5's and 6 8's and 5 9's. Since I was playing inside numbers I did well. Then Lois not to be outdone comes right back with a 40 roll hand with 5 9's, but 6 10's that were the money maker. She couldn't quite match Rubin however she was on FIRE as in 4 points made and yes, Rubin she and I all had it.

JC came back with a 9 roll hand and 14 number hand while Lois cooled off with a PSO and Rubin had a little 7 number hand.

I decided to try a third time and lo and behold I got 23 box numbers with only 2 junk numbers. Again the 5 was the number to be on. I hit it 7 times. Imade 3 points and was working on the fourth number for the fire bet when old ugly showed up.

The only bad thing was that Rubin called me at 5:15 this morning wanting to know if I was up and ready to shoot. Funny but true. Now I couldn't go back to sleep. Oh well money was made by all.

Thank you Lois, Clark and Rubin for taking the time to roll with me. It was nice to be part of the long rolls.
Saturday morning I had a long roll going shooting for a 6 to make the fire bet, when a new player entered and filled the landing area with his chips. I was able to land around his chips for three rolls then it happened... one die hit the chips and the seven appeared. The other players at the table were not happy and expressed their opinions to him. It is so much better rolling with a group of GTC players to avoid situations like this.

I will back in Vegas around November 4th - looking forward to playing again

Time to practice with the new dice set Clark and Lois suggested.

John, glad you had a breakout roll. I have used that suggested unconventional set for at least a year. It helps me score since I have a double pitching problem and a thumb that doesn't allow me to grip the dice like the majority of the GTC shooters. See you in November.
