And here's some shrimp trivia, just for the helluvit:
•It was Golden Gate founding partner Italo Ghelfi who was inspired to bring the San Francisco staple to Sin City in the late '50s and it's been a signature of the hotel, which has now served some 40 million shrimp cocktails (more than a billion individual shrimp!), ever since.
•The price of the Golden Gate's shrimp cocktail was still 50 cents when Anthony Curtis published the first-ever edition of the the Las Vegas Advisor newsletter, back in Feb. 1983 and included it as #4 in the inaugural LVA Top Ten Values List.
•The Gate gets through approximately 217 lbs of Bay shrimp daily, plus 54 lbs of the big shrimp in the other cocktail they serve. Both varieties are served with their secret spicy signature sauce.
