MGM Resorts International Inc chairman James Murren expects to open a casino-resort in Japan before the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, Investor’s Business Daily reports.

Mr Murren said the process of making casinos legal in Japan was complicated but that he was confident MGM would win the right to open a casino there.

A bill to legalise casinos is going through parliament.

Most of Macau’s gaming companies say they are ready to invest in Japan.

MGM Resorts International is parent company of MGM China Holdings Ltd.
