Denzel Washington has an academy award performance. I thought the movie also might get nominated, but Sally thinks that is a stretch.

I agree Denzel does a superb job. But I think the movie misses the mark. It drags a bit in the middle and loses its way at times.

I don't think it is in the same league as Days of Wine and Roses, Barfly, The Lost Weekend, Leaving Las Vegas or A Star is Born.
